I have a confession to make. I really like mystery shows. I do prefer the intriguing and complex over the very gory and scary as a rule. And don't confuse my enjoyment of mysteries with being good at figuring out who did it because I'm not. But regardless, I still enjoy them. Like the original Law and Order's and pretty much anything from Mystery Theater on PBS like Poirot or Miss Marple (there is a new series of 4 Miss Marples that supposedly started last Sunday but I didn't get them on my public station yet) or Inspector Lindley or Morse or Dalgliech. I also like the Midsomer Murders and Nero Wolf too. It's kind of embarrassing but there you have it, a guilty pleasure.
My newest mystery fav is The Closer on TNT. Well written, well acted and complex in character development and interlocking story lines, it's really one of the best shows on television today in my opinion. Season 2 starts on June 12th and I'd be lying if I said that I'm not looking forward to it, even though I won't know who did it until the last minute anyway.
