Did you check out the featured typepad blog from 9/23, ace jet 170? It's fabulous. All about type. Wonderful. But I have to admit that it's the amazing patterns from these old penguin dust jackets designed by Stephen Russ, that really make my heart race. I love this era of penguin books and have always been blown away by the patterns they used as a matter of course. Was it Stephen Russ who designed all of them? I did a google search and only found a link to the book he wrote on pattern design, fabric printing by hand on amazon. Hm. More research to follow.
And as a side note while we're on the subject of penguin books, if you haven't seen the new book, penguin by design, it's definitely worth a look. Which admittedly, is all I've done to date. I guess now I'll have to go back and take a deeper look at the story behind their fabulous patterns and more specifically, Mr. Russ. Ah, a small design adventure!

I have seen misprintedtype before. It's wonderful! Thanks for reminding me.
