I discovered the 3 part series of books by mina perhonen last week in LA. Book 1 features textiles. Book 2, embroidery. Book 3, prints. What a wonderful designer and what a perfect addition to a design library. I'm so impressed with the range of pattern designs he has created, expressed through such a wide range of techniques. So lovely!

hello:
I found you thru Silk Felt Soil two weeks ago, and I've been reading your blog ever since. You have one great blog! Mina Perhonen has another book actually, it's called Particle of Mina Perhonen, ISBN4-86020132-9. It's not available in the Kinokuniya Singapore bookstore, too, but I ordered it through them early last week, and just got the book this afternoon. I have to tell you, it's soooo good and it came with some english text, too. A super read!

hi~
i'm sort of obsessed with mina perhonen! it's hard to find info about the company... but i did find out that mina perhonen is the name of a japanese fashion brand, designed by a man named akira minagawa... not a woman's name (as i thought too!)... i was surprised to find out the designer is a man, the designs feel so feminine. i have 2 of the 3 books. i'm missing the "embroidery" book. how is that one? also, i don't have Particle of Mina Perhonen (thanks imelda!). I'm on the hunt for that one now too!

Oh my goodness. Thanks Lena for the heads up that the Mina Perhonen designer is a he instead of a she. I'll fix that right now...And yes, I'd get the embroidery book if you can. It's as good as the others and it nicely completes the set. I got the entire set at tortoise in LA, so you might try there if you can't find it elsewhere.
And thanks so much Imelda for the tip on the other Mina Perhonen book. I'll add it to the Christmas list.
