I must have been daydreaming, but I just discovered that one of my favorite pattern designers lotta jansdotter has a blog. I found these fabulous images she took in her 2/6 post, at a visit to house in Long Island. Room after room decorated with confident, simple wallpaper patterns. I especially love the mix of the simple, bold graphics with the classic landscape paintings in gilded frames. Such confidence and joy and kind of hollywood regency sensibility too. Perfection on all fronts!

Ada--
I just commented on teh "bird in a hat" posting and felt compelled to comment on this posting too.
You see, I found your site through a google search on "Hollywodd Regency"--I am finishing an Interior Design program and in an Historical Interiors class, we had to renovate a pool house in any style we chose--and I chose Hollywood Regency. I found a lot of great sites and pics--including the Billy Haines site which is fabulous. But I found your site too since you had posted a picture of a Hollywood Regency interior.
This posting of the graphic b&w wallpaper brings to mind a wallpaper company in the UK called Timorous Beasties.

They have some gorgeous papers and fabrics that mix many styles. They have some wild toiles as well.
Also, this posting recalls Kelly Wearstler's papers and designs. I am sure you know of her although I have not come across a posting on your site that mentions her. She has done some fabulous Hollywood Regency interiors including her own residence, as well as the new cafe at Bergdorf's in NYC.
