One of the reasons I like wire as a material for art, is the fact that the art made from it often feels like a 3 dimensional drawing. The line of the wire draws a form and that form casts a shadow, adding another layer of intrigue and narrative to the visual story. Happily today, I stumbled across a wonderful slide show in the new york times arts section, featuring some of the work from a show, gego, between transparency and the invisible at the drawing center in nyc, which shares one artists lifetime exploration of that very thing. So wonderful!

Wow! This is just wonderful. I love wire too. Thank you for finding and sharing this, it is very inspiring and makes me want to get out my wire and tools!
