I love vintage photos of dogs. I'm a big time dog lover so I find these old photos of people and their pets very moving. Recorded in a time when photography wasn't such a simple process, these photos show me that the loving bond between humans and dogs is timeless, deep and enduring. It's been a priority to capture the connection between ourselves and dogs in pictures and art, ever since we could capture it in some way. I've found a few of these sweet photos in 2nd hand stores and estate sales over the years. Well the other day, a kind friend sent me an envelope filled with some old photos she'd collected for me. What a kind and happy surprise! So now I have the beginning of a "collection" of vintage dog photos which are now happily gathering on flickr. Good times.
me too but not of dogs, I collect old photos of cats and I love to read the sweet words people wrote about their love for their cats on the back side of the photos.
