We live in scary times and normally, I don't gravitate to art the focus' on that too much. It's not that I don't want to see reality but rather that sometimes I get tired of seeing so much. But regardless, I find myself so drawn to the remarkable prints of craig at trailerafire. His subject matter is weighty with tension as it captures the moment leading up to, or the moment of, something bad happening. That tension is offset by the skillful rendering and soft, appealing colors of the pieces themselves. I love them individually and I think I'd love them more as a grouping. I guess I could stand a little more reality if this is how beautiful it looks. That and I could always cancel the newspaper for a little less reality somewhere else...
