Maybe it's because I spent my early childhood in Los Angeles where runoff water was channeled into open air, concrete canals throughout the city. Or maybe it's because it's already cool and crisp here; no late summer into October this year. Or maybe it's just that this is simply beautiful. For whatever reason, I'm totally loving this serene, calm painting by chris ballantyne. The color, the form, the mystery as to what this really is, all add up to a very compelling piece of art.
