I love this drawing by john parot for a number of reasons. The happy color mix of the utilitarian, brown ground with the snappy, shades of pink used in the motifs. The use of hand rendered type in conjunction with the lovely patterned linework that makes the piece feel layered and dimensional. All this resulting in a piece that's magical and fresh, while at the same time balancing a kind of nostalgic, 60's, grooviness! Mm, I do love this drawing.
