ruth singer.

Oh my goodness, can you believe how wonderful these textile pieces by ruth singer are? I love the use of traditional decorative sewing techniques as a medium for art. Dimensional, sculptural, textural and layered, these works nicely push the boundaries between 2 dimensional and 3 dimensional planes. They are so very lovely as well as deeply satisfying somehow.

wow. those are absolutely stunning. thanks for the link!

these are really beautiful and I am surprised by how much I like them. the dark green is so enticing.

thanks dearada!
They are totally amazing i wish I could have seen Ruth's stall at the London Craft fair.

this is totally incredible.

I contacted the artist after I saw her on the site, I am now in the process of commissioning a piece from her. She is very friendly, willing to work w/ a budget, and immensely talented. I am so excited!

They also push the boundaries between 'craft' and 'fine art' a boundary I love to push and question and see pushed!
Absolutely lovely!
