I'm loving the simple forms and rich colors and wonderful textures of these paintings by barbara kleinhans. There's something so accessible and warm about them. Maybe it's the coded forms or perhaps the tempered color or maybe the layered roughness of their surfaces. I don't know for sure but that's ok, because they're such a pleasure, regardless of exactly why.
