I'm loving the mix of materials that joanne haywood employs in her jewelry. Yarn and string, mixed with metal. Soft and hard. Warm and cool. What's so terrific about her pieces is that they've avoided the easier idea of harshly contrasting these materials and instead, integrated their two very different characteristics into one fresh and surprising form. Organic and human made, they speak to the most modern of ideas where nature and industry combine to forge new and innovative forms and functions. Just perfect.
