I had to share this lovely drawing by lauren nassef. I'm loving the composition as well as the terrific line work. She's so beautifully captured the way a dog sleeps too, fully there, wherever they lay down, with deep abandon. Such a nice drawing!

Oh my goodness, I'm in love with this photograph of blossoms by bibbi forsman. The lighting on it is amazing and oh, that flat, grey background. Perfection.

Yeah, these paintings on photographs by lisa dahl totally slay me. I love the erasure of the actual building from it's real environment. The flat colored field reduces the object to a symbol of structure, each one different in their own right but all so very identifiable in an iconic way too. I'm really liking each of them individually, but aren't they amazing when seen together? So very cool!

It's hard to pick my favorite pattern from helen dardik. Really hard. Is it one of the many sweet, groovy all over bird pattern or is it the fabulous floral pattern smattered lightly with bright eyeballs throughout? I don't know but there might just be too much happy delight to choose from here.

Yikes, are these type c prints by miranda lichtenstein ever something. I love their intense colors, the mix of silhouettes with real flowers as well as their smart compositions. Reverent, composed and otherworldly, aren't they just fantastic?

urlich goerlich.

I love these photographs by ulrich goerlich with their simple band of color placed strategically in the foreground. What a great way to think about color, in isolation, which helps the eye to see the color in all the places it shows up in the photograph. It also functions as an empowered hue because of that isolation, one that the rest of the colors in the photo are reacting against. These images both calm and excite at the same time, not an easy feat to achieve when all is said and done.

Hello happy, playful color. Hello terrific drawing/paintings by nathalie chikhi. I'm loving the mix of acrylic and pencil on cream paper, as well as the study of simple geometric motifs. And of course there's the color that can only make you smile. So fun and happy indeed.

I love these paintings by jeroen allart so much it's almost hard to breath. I love their flatness, their color, their subject matter, their composition. That's all I have to say. Love, pure and simple.

I'm really liking this illustration by mark frauenfelder an awful lot. It's part of a recent group show about animals at the roq la rue gallery. Mostly strange and often scary animals, for what it's worth. But this piece, along with a couple of others, makes me happy in it's colorful, atomic, modern, flat sensibility. Fun, fun.
