Oh my goodness, how wonderful are these sculptures made from fishing line by melissa hirsch! The craftmanship is breathtaking and I love the tension of the natural forms created from a manmade substance that in many ways is endangering the very ecosystem they exist within. I also love the color and luminosity of the material itself. Plasticy and in no way natural, it adds an otherworldly quality to these underwater creatures that are already otherworldly in their own right. What truly amazing work!
