I really like this contemporary piece by anna del zoppo, partly because it's so reminiscent of a textile sampler you might find from the turn of the 20th century. The limited color palette, just black on a distressed, parchment colored ground is refreshing and modern. And I like to think of this piece as a collage that happens to be laid out in a very ordered and scientific way but still mixed, storied and about contrasts and similarities. Very nice!
