I love the rawness and the simple, graphic depiction of flowers in these pieces by anna maria hernando. There are layers of imagery and please, the color palette is so fresh and unique. And there's that ultramarine blue I seem to be so enamored with again. Lovely.

How funny to see Ana Maria pop up on your blog today! I know her-- she lives in Boulder (my hometown where I lived until 6 months ago), and I hung a show of her work at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art. What a nice woman and great artist! I'm so glad you wrote about her.
