I love this ceramic piece above by barbro johansson on so many levels. The immediate draw is that it confuses me a bit because it doesn't look like it's made from clay on first glance. I keep thinking its constructed from metal and enamel for some reason. And then of course, there's the perfect form, the liberally cut structure, the applied rosettes that make it feel like a crown or a basket. And finally it's the glaze work, all glassy and deliciously icy. Sigh.
And what about this wonderful petaled wreath below. Flouncy and active, but also still at the same time. And again the glaze, glassy but not fully covering the form which happily highlights the shape and layers of the piece that much more.
Yep, it's true love.




Birdie, you are absolutely amazing with the stuff you find. I love Babro Johansson's piece, it reminds me of enamel also
