I think the embroidery and lace work of susie cowie is remarkable. There's a very personal narrative happening here, a conversation between each piece, with symbols and motifs that have great meaning for the artist. The fact that the pieces are so beautifully crafted brings this mysterious story to life. Lovely "canvases" of fine, translucent linen, intricate embroidered butterflies, airplanes, bows and flowers, hand made lace that is both delicate and strong, all adds up to something very rich and compelling.
