I'm dying for these lollipop shooting gallery targets from odd fellows antiques found via the fantastic d. sharp. Oh would I love to have one of these beauties gracing the walls of my humble abode. The colors are to die for and I lu-hu-ve the happy, dandelion meets mid-century star burst shapes. Plus the rusty, mottled finishes are pretty fabulous in their own right. Yep, I love these things, pure and simple!

Good morning happy dot patterns from mina perhonen. Good morning happy patterns I'd love a skirt in. They're ever so simple and lovely and sometimes that's the best thing of all.

I'm really liking these lovely paintings by albina mcphail. Botanical forms, painted and drawn, veiled in some pieces, presented straightforwardly in others. I'd love to see a wall of 6 or 9 of these pieces, happily talking to each other. And how about that color palette, relatively narrow in scope but so rich and fresh nonetheless. Good morning spring!

I love the feel of these beautiful photographs from sivan lewin. There's a stillness about them that makes me feel calm and comforted. Everyday things, simple and sure. Everything is alright. Lovely.

martin jarrie.

I'm totally in love with the paintings of martin jarrie. Totally. I love the iconography, the story telling, the compositions, the color, the hand in which they are painted. Each one is terrific in it's own right and more than one together is even better. I get such a sense of a lovely, particular world when I scroll through painting after amazing painting, like some very special and intimate story is being revealed to me personally. Mm, what a happy way to start the weekend!

davis rhodes.

I'm loving the bold graphicness of these spray paint on canvas paintings by davis rhodes. Simple, confident and fresh, I love how the empty spaces are as important as the filled in this work. What's not there can be as telling as what is. I also find myself thinking of type or signage, deconstructed and reframed. Something's being communicated here but because of cropping and scale it's obscured. And yes, the bright happy colors juxtaposed with the simplicity black and white are just fantastic.

benicia ganter.

These remarkable vinyl on laminated acrylic panel paintings by benicia gantner make me happy. There's a lushness about the colors, a depth brought about by the particular materials used to make the work. And I'm such a sucker for simple, silhouetted images, ideas that have been brought neatly to their essence. I'd love to see this work in person because I imagine they feel even more glamorous in the light of day. Mm, so very nice.

deb todd wheeler.

I love these amazing flowers made from plastic shopping bags by visitors to the live experiments in human energy exchange exhibit designed by deb todd wheeler. I love the story of the reuse of garbage, ubiquitous plastic bags that also happen to be made from the diminishing and controversial resource of fossil fuel. It's surprising as a material for art and is also a statement about the wasteful and destructive habits of modern society at the same time. But it's the fact that each of these whimsical flowers was made be different people, the audience if you will, that's the most magical part to me. And the forms themselves are incredible. I love the variation on the theme. I love the intent. Ah, this makes me so very happy.

rachel davis.

At first glance these acrylic paintings on wood by rachel davis have the feel of a wood cut print. I love their color palettes especially, strange and surprising combinations that unnerve and prod a bit. Dense and constrained, these paintings hold my attention far beyond what I'd initially expect. Intriguing!

wesley willis.

I'm just loving the rich, energetic drawings of wesley willis. Urban scenes, landscapes, fish eye perspective in some, all rendered with a distinctive, enthusiastic hand. I love the fact that the line work is celebrated here, no need to make these scenes feel photographic or perfect. Regardless, they still feel so realistic capturing both the details of place and the overall mood of the day in one effort. Mm, I just love this work.
