I had the rare opportunity to hear theo jansen speak at the art center design conference a few years back. His amazingly complex kinetic sculptures are absolutely magical. Moving, "living" through interaction with wind and a gentle push and nothing more, these pieces remind us of the beauty of art and the breathtaking possibility of imagination.
