What I especially love about the work you've chosen to highlight is the fact that the backgrounds are actually bed sheets. The embroidery work in this series brings me directly back to my youth where these skills were considered important to the well rounded development of young women. While I acquired these skills, they've been long forgotten. The phrases seem so perfect for the ideals of the time.

I'm familiar with Lisa Dahl's work and she explores many concepts of house and home. I'm also attracted to the small scale of many of her works. I recommend looking at her site and seeing some of the shots of the work installed. The intimate size of some of the work seems so correct for the subject matter.
