The paintings and collages that carina traberg makes focus on cities and buildings and interiors. Lot's of thinking about architecture and all that that entails. Planes intersecting, light and shadow falling on corners and walls, even the clash of distinctly different styles that form the landscape so much of the world sees. Her body of work adds up to a very interesting and wonderful exploration of modern form in modern life.

Aren't these 3 dimensional assemblages of buildings by ron vander ende inspiring? I'm a bit breathless about the amazing crafting and construction of his work. And then there's the color palette, subdued, weathered and pitch perfect. This work makes me ever so happy!

lisa dahl.

Yeah, these paintings on photographs by lisa dahl totally slay me. I love the erasure of the actual building from it's real environment. The flat colored field reduces the object to a symbol of structure, each one different in their own right but all so very identifiable in an iconic way too. I'm really liking each of them individually, but aren't they amazing when seen together? So very cool!

I love these paintings by jeroen allart so much it's almost hard to breath. I love their flatness, their color, their subject matter, their composition. That's all I have to say. Love, pure and simple.

I'm totally grooving (again) on the fah-ab-ulous paintings of blaise drummond. Perfection is architecture plus colorful geometry plus landscape with lot's of white ground. Love.

yonatan zur.

I'm totally loving the photographs of yonatan zur. Each one is so colorful and abstracted, modern pictures of modern architecture and life. But oh my, seen together as they are presented on his flickr page makes my heart race a little faster. I know they're not necessarily meant to be seen this way, but they're just so beautiful presented together too.

lisa bulawsky.

Mmm. These mixed media pieces by lisa bulawsky are making me pretty happy today. I seem to have a soft spot in my heart for art that is able to incorporate pencil successfully into it's composition like in the piece above. On one level it is such a pedestrian medium but it's that very accessibility that can make it feel authentic and true. And I'm loving the color and symbolism in these pieces. Inside and outside of architecture. Very nice indeed.

john descarfino.

I'm loving these architectural paintings by john descarfino. The composition, the nearly abstract planes and structures that make up the story of the work and oh my, the color. This art is so very modern and smart.

I'm liking the intensity of these paintings by david jones. These simple compositions and blasting color make for an arresting combination. Fabulous!
