I like the structures and textures of these ceramic pieces by bryan hopkins. They remind me a bit of buildings before and after they've been finished. We see the bones and the external surfaces here, inside and outside revealed. Simple and lovely.

I'm feeling in the mood for some glamourous perfection so who better to fill that need than todd muehling for nymphenburg? I mean come on, does porcelain get more delicate or beautiful or fantastic than this? This stuff just makes me so happy, that it's even made in the first place and of course, how it looks and feels. Modern, organic, bold and precise at the end of the day it's just so pretty, pretty, pretty, pure and simple!

Textures, layers and geometries are all subjects that are being nicely explored here in the ceramics of valeria nascimento. I'm really loving their compositions and forms so reminiscent of botanical and sea shell patterns as well the tight, simple color palette (mostly white, a little black) that expresses them. Just lovely.

Jashorse

I'm liking these funny ceramic sculptures by jenny mendes very much. Whimsical, colorful and nicely crafted, they have a playful, joyful spirit about them that's always welcome in my day. They remind me a bit of the spirit of the recently rereleased toys by alexander girard. So very playful and fun!

I really like the rawness and delicacy of these ceramic cups and saucers by sarah malone. They celebrate the crafting and making of the forms so nicely, unashamed of the tears and pulls that occur while doing so. Each one feels utterly unique and special, like a 3 dimensional personal note from the artist to the person who holds the vessel. So lovely.

I'm finding the ceramic vessels and jewelry by lise damsager hansen pretty intriguing. I love the organic forms of her vases and pots and this jewelry piece below is breathtaking, if not exactly wearable. I'm also gaga for the lovely, narrow color palette of shades of grey, black and white. Yes indeed, this work is very fine.

I seem to be on a bit of a ceramics jag these days, why, I don't know. But there you have it and here we have otto heino's amazing porcelain plate to feed my habit. I love, love the color and texture of the glazes he uses. Buttery, bold and appealing. So very, very nice indeed.

Barbrojskal

I love this ceramic piece above by barbro johansson on so many levels. The immediate draw is that it confuses me a bit because it doesn't look like it's made from clay on first glance. I keep thinking its constructed from metal and enamel for some reason. And then of course, there's the perfect form, the liberally cut structure, the applied rosettes that make it feel like a crown or a basket. And finally it's the glaze work, all glassy and deliciously icy. Sigh.

And what about this wonderful petaled wreath below. Flouncy and active, but also still at the same time. And again the glaze, glassy but not fully covering the form which happily highlights the shape and layers of the piece that much more.

Yep, it's true love.

Kinabjorklund2

I'm loving the incredible, lacy, pierced, decorative ceramics of kina bjorklund. What a wonderful mix of simple straightforward form and intricate, dimensional patterning achieved by stamping the terracotta clay with lace, antique brooches and ironmongery. And can we talk for a minute about the amazing white, transparent glazes that feel, as one gallery put it, "like icing on a cake". Mm, so very, very lovely indeed.
