bonbonkakku love.

Kokoromoi_120_template

I don't think I could ever actually do something as dramatic as these wonderful murals from bonbonkakku in my own house, but that doesn't stop me from loving them just the same. Bold, graphic and ever so fun, I think they are just so very fabulous nonetheless!

Good morning perfect graphic illustrations by kin-pro. Perfect I say, in their design, their colors, their spirit. I love the cross section between signage and anime, symbolism and modern iconography that they're living within. So cheery and yet also a bit dark in some cases, this work is such a happy party of contradictions. Love!

linzie hunter's matchbook cover collection.

Aren't these vintage matchbook covers from the very talented linzie hunter's flickr collection fabulous? I love the simple, graphic layouts, so timeless and modern. And the color palettes are amazing too. These humble, utilitarian matchbook covers are treated with such respect and consideration through good design. A wonderful reminder that everything, even the most basic of things, deserves a little design attention and love.

Ok, so I'm officially swooning over this amazing series of book covers by the designer david pearson. There are so many other remarkable designs to choose from on his site but this series especially has my heart beating a little faster than normal. Is it the stunning graphic depiction of plants and feathers that has me delirious? Or maybe it's the pitch perfect color palettes the get the adrenaline rushing? Or could it be the smart, modern compositions and layouts of the images and text? It's all that and more. I want every single one of them framed and hung in a place of prominence in my house. Today, now and forever. Ok, I'm done swooning...

bradbury and bradbury.

Mwr_001_red_blue_400

These posters from bradbury and bradbury are kind of amazing. They're so ordered and intricate, obviously inspired by a design sensibility from another era but so contemporary just the same. And such fabulous colorways to boot!

I am totally gaga for these fabulously colored, beautifully conceived graphics I found on ffffound, originally taken from rallovallo's flickr graphic set. It looks like these are posters from the centre pompidou, but unfortunately I don't know who they're by or when they were produced. Aren't I helpful! Regardless, they are so happy and smart and energetic, thanks to the sassy irreverent color mixed with such grownup modern design. These just make me so happy.

Bordjesindoos

How amazingly groovy are these signs by the extraordinary design team niessen & de vries? I like them so because they feel so fresh and modern and bright and smart. I want them as house numbers for my house. Yes indeed. And how about this wonderful poster below. Again, modern and fun. I want it too, and though I probably can't get this very one, luckily there are lot's of other fun posters by these talented designers here. Run, don't walk.

I think I stumbled across the amazing work of neuarmy on ffffound but I'm not sure. To the person who first shared this beautiful work, I thank you and apologize for loosing the reference.

Having said all that, isn't this type study absolutely lovely. Spring, flowers and birds and bees beautifully rendered and composed. What a perfect promise for days soon to come.

I'm very intrigued with the graphic work of matt curry, an artist I originally found on ffffound. I love the mix of influences that converge to make such compelling work: anime, tattoo aesthetic, graffiti, among other things. And don't get me started on the smart, bold color. Who knew turquoise could be so aesthetically pleasing and helpful in combination with other warm, happy colors?
