This is not a textile pattern. It's a picture of ferroelectric liquid crystal domains, taken by Dr. Michi Nakata from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I found this amazing photo in the Time magazine photo essay finding beauty in the very small, featuring some of the nikon small world photomicrography competition entries. I love this stuff!
