I discovered the wonderful, simple collage work of shiso mama yesterday on wonderful phoebe's blog. I'm a huge fan of collages, as regular readers know, so to find such a unique and fresh approach to the art form is a real treat. I love the edited, pared down, almost gestural quality of her work. I usually think of collage as dense and layered up, so to find an example of someone who so skillfully "takes away" is a happy surprise.
