Yesterday was fun. I picked up a piece of art I'd bought last month. Always a treat. And next door to the gallery is one of my favorite shops, denwave (who is in the process of setting up their website, so as soon as they're up and running, I'll post the link). One of my favorite jewelry designers of all time, hazel cox, is one of the owners. I like to stop by every once and a while to see what new, fabulous creations of hers are on display. And yesterday was not a disappointment, to say the least. I picked up this beauty made of a crimped copper chain, a steel wishbone, a vintage crystal charm, a flat steel heart and a hand-forged clasp. It doesn't get much better than this for me. Each piece of jewelry she makes, feels like a singular, rich narrative, brought to life through a smart and sensitive mix of materials and objects. It's like a beautiful collage in jewelry form. Oh boy, do I love that!
