I love these photographs by ulrich goerlich with their simple band of color placed strategically in the foreground. What a great way to think about color, in isolation, which helps the eye to see the color in all the places it shows up in the photograph. It also functions as an empowered hue because of that isolation, one that the rest of the colors in the photo are reacting against. These images both calm and excite at the same time, not an easy feat to achieve when all is said and done.
