I remember making forms from paper mache as a child but they never came out as wonderful and whimsical as this piece above by amanda barr. And no, we were never given gold leaf to finish off our creations either, which is too bad when you see how spectacular it looks on the fabulous mixed media owl sculpture below. I love their misshaped, amorphous forms, reminiscent of animals but just unclear enough to leave you a little unsure. Ah, there's that ambiguity I so love in a good piece of art!
