This is exactly how I feel about design. Design should make a product both look better and be more efficient. It should make you want to use a particular product, improve your life, if you will.
That's how I felt about the Novopen 15 years ago. It improved my life, cut down the amount of paraphanalia I had to carry around, and it looked good. It's also why I won't switch to a pump (other than the ick factor). At the moment pumps are still like bricks, often in colours that would only appeal to a six year old, and the amount of stuff you need to carry in order to make it function is huge.
If the size could be reduced, if it didn't need tubes, catheters etc and if it looked like an iPod shuffle I think I could go there.
